Innovent
(Scotland) Limited developed the Barrfly™ Midge
and Mosquito Barrier in 2005 and have tested and developed
the product in Laboratory and in Field conditions with exceptional
results. The product is designed specifically with the Scottish
outdoor leisure market in mind. It can be light weight and
can be incorporated into marquees and any lightweight structure.
It operates by creating an air curtain around the perimeter
of any area you wish to protect, thus protecting people inside
the “Barrier” from infestation of midges and mosquitoes.
For a standard installation, all you need is a length of
Barrfly fabric supply ducting, a suitable mounting system
and a Barrfly fan system to propel the air. Contact us for
details and assistance in sizing and costs. We also offer
a no obligation design service.
The Barrfly system can be integrated into almost any outdoor
application, Patios, Balconies, Marquees and even fixed structures
such as canopy roofs. We are sure we have a solution to every
application!
How does Barrfly differ from Midgeater machines?
Good question! Barrfly will protect a predefined area from
midge infestation. Midgeater machines will reduce the population
in your garden, terrace or patio, but they will not stop them
entering the area you want to sit and relax in!
Design of the Barrfly system is crucial to it’s success,
that is why we ask you contact us for a free survey.
Testimonials
“We suffer very badly during the summer months and
have tried everything to protect our customers from being
bitten. We have run various types of machines, including the
CO2 machines which suck midges in and trap them in a net,
but this one has been the most effective!” Douglas
Murray, Lomond Spas, Arrochar The Sunday Times 14th August
2005
“Midges don’t fly in anything more than a gentle
breeze, during tests, midge traps were put in place inside
and outside the air curtained areas, and virtually
none were caught inside!” Dr Alison Blackwell, Advanced
Pest Solutions, The Sunday Times 14th August 2005
“We are delighted to commission Innovent to install
their system in our new development at Loch Lomond to protect
our customers from midges…..” Craig Mitchell,
Managing Director, De Vere Resort Management, Cameron House
“The Barrfly system is a great success in the Marquee!”
